Junkyard Steamroller will be a gallery filled with a variety of non-traditional printmaking styles and live oversized printing using a steamroller as a press! The show will explore the variety and impact of DAC’s program in partnership with Judy Hayes, Playing with the Press. For years Hayes has been sharing her large Griffin etching press with local artists and creating mixed media prints using a multitude of methods such as; inking found objects, collage, pushing texture and more. In addition to the framed work in the gallery, an entire will be saved for huge prints! The processes developed in the Playing with the Press workshop will be expanded into a steamroller scale! Objects collected from junk yards and backyards too large for the press will be used to create massive prints!
