Since 1992, Creativity Festivity has served as our community’s annual celebration of learning through the arts. The event showcases children’s imaginative work in art, theatre, poetry and music, and this year’s theme is ART: PATHWAYS TO IMAGINATION.
Throughout the two week celebration, DAC hosts events and opportunities for local youth to share their work with the greater arts community in Durango. Activities during Creativity Festivity include an exhibit featuring work of k-12th grade students in the Barbara Conrad Gallery, Durango High School’s beloved annual poetry slam and a special youth theatre production of Giants in the Sky.

This magical story explores the world of Giants who live above the clouds. Ever since they left Earth a long time ago, the Giants have made a life up above where their job is to keep the sky beautiful. They polish the stars, poke the clouds to let it rain and paint the sunsets. But there is one curious Giant who wonders what life is like on Earth, so she steals a key to the locked up “beanstalk” and embarks on an adventure down below!
