Since 1992, Creativity Festivity has served as our community’s annual celebration of learning through the arts. The event showcases children’s imaginative work in art, theatre, poetry and music, and this year’s theme is Art Connects the World.
Throughout the two week celebration, DAC hosts events and opportunities for local youth to share their work with the greater arts community in Durango. Activities during Creativity Festivity include an exhibit featuring work of k-12th grade students in the Barbara Conrad Gallery, a writing contest for 4th and 5th grades, Durango High School’s beloved annual poetry slam and a special youth theatre production of The Grunch.
Check out the 2016 Creativity Festivity celebration here.
DAC is pleased to coordinate Creativity Festivity for the community to experience and access at free or very low cost admissions thanks to the generous funding of our community partners: Coca-Cola of Durango-Farmington, Durango School District 9R, Durango Friends of the Arts, Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Rail Events, Inc. and family funds of the Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado.
Barbara Conrad Gallery Hours:
Tuesday – Saturday
10am – 5pm
Entry to Durango Arts Center galleries is always free. The galleries are closed to the public on Sundays and Mondays.
