Artist Statement:
Lee Apted’s work is an expanded form of mixed media, combining digital and traditional materials, as well as experimental tools and techniques. A work may consist of chalk, charcoal, colored pencil, crayon, graphite, marker, pen, and watercolor, and could involve the use of tape or adhesive masking, along with creasing, cutting, distressing, folding, and scraping of the paper, applied before and/or after one or more printing steps on customized printing equipment
