Printmaking by Ron Fundingsland

Ron Fundingsland was born in Burlington, CO in 1947 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1970. More recently, he was a jazz programmer, producer, music programmer and host at KSUT Public Radio for 15 years.

He resides with his wife, Jean, in Bayfield, CO.

Ron has exhibited in numerous national exhibitions and is the recipient of many awards including the Ture Bengtz Memorial Prize, awarded by juror Jim Dine at the Boston Printmakers 2011 North American Print Biennial. His work has been exhibited internationally in Poland, Korea, Taiwan, Egypt, Norway, Germany, Brazil, Czech Republic and Portugal. His prints are included in the permanent collections of several museums including the Denver Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Boston,

Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art – Kansas City, Museum of Fine Arts – Santa Fe and the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts – Palace of the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco.

His work is represented by Robischon Gallery in Denver.

Statement:

My images are composed of familiar objects that are isolated and removed from any context in which the viewer can form a conventional conclusion. I’m affected by personal, social and political issues that can frequently be found in my prints.
